Privacy Policy for Merchants
Pikmi Global (Company Registration Number 1547778) a private limited company located at Plot 12A Umuguma Housing Estate Owerri, Imo State, Federal Republic of Nigeria, is the controller of personal data of merchants, and has appointed a Data Protection Officer (privacy@pikmi.net). The term “us” or “we” refer to the owner of the Pikmi App, Pikmi Global Company, a private limited company, founded in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
1. Personal data we process
- Name, e-mail, phone number, place of residence.
- Geolocation of Merchants.
- Information about Merchants (including registration number).
- Merchant ́s efficiency and ratings.
- Identity documents.
- Data about criminal convictions and offences.
- The financial data of providing E-commerce services is not considered as personal data, because merchants provide services in the course of economic
and professional activities.
2. Purposes of the processing

We collect and process personal data for the purpose of connecting customers and delivery agents with merchants to help them navigate more efficiently.

We collect contact information from merchant device for the purpose of saving emergency contacts.

We collect contact information from merchant device for the purpose of sending order status.

We collect contact information from merchant device for the purpose of sending delivery status.

We collect contact information from merchant device for the purpose of referrals.

Geolocation are processed to analyse the geographical area and give suggestions to customers.

Identity documents and criminal convictions and offences are processed to determine the compliance with the legal requirements and the suitability of pursuing a profession as a merchant.

Pikmi App displays merchant ́s Logo, Name and Store details for the customers to easily identify merchant.

You will receive summaries from the Pikmi Merchant App or via email, which will include your efficiency and ratings as a merchant. Summary and ratings about merchants are necessary to provide reliable services for customers.
3. Legal basis
- Personal data is processed for the performance of the contract concluded with the merchant. The prerequisite for the use of the Pikmi services is the processing of merchant ́s identification and geolocation data.
- Personal data may be processed on the ground of legitimate interest in investigating and detecting fraudulent and non-reputable activities.
- Data regarding criminal convictions and offences is processed for compliance with a legal obligation.
4. Recipients
- Your personal data is only disclosed to customers, who use the Pikmi App. Customers will see merchant ́s registered name, merchant ́s brand logo, phone number and geolocation data. Customers may also see merchant ́s personal data in their receipts.
- Depending on the location of the merchant, the personal data may be disclosed to Pikmi Global Co. Ltd., local subsidiaries, representatives, affiliates, agents etc. Processing of personal data will occur under the same conditions as established in this privacy policy.
5. Security and access

Any personal data collected in the course of providing services is transferred to and stored in the data centres of Jungleworks, Jugnoo Technologies LLP and Socomo Technologies Private Limited. Only authorised employees of Pikmi Global Co. Ltd., Pikmi ́s Affiliates and Partners have access to the personal data and they may access the data only for the purpose of resolving issues associated with the use of the services (including disputes regarding E-commerce services).

6. Processing customers personal data
- You may not process the personal data of customers without the permission of us. You may not contact any customer or collect, record, store, grant access, use or cross-use the personal data provided by the customer or accessible to you via the Pikmi App for any reason other than for the purposes of fulfilling the E-commerce services.
- You must comply with the rules and conditions for processing of personal data of customers as set forth in the Privacy Policy for Customers https://pikmi.takooka.org/privacy-policy-for-merchants/. If you violate the requirements for the processing of personal data of customers, we may terminate your merchant ́s account and claim damages from you.
7. Access, correction, retention, deletion and data portability
- Personal data can be viewed and corrected in the Pikmi Merchant App.
- Your personal data will be stored as long as you have an active merchant ́s account. If your account will be closed the personal data will be stored for additional 3 year period.
- Data necessary for accounting purposes shall be stored for 7 years.
- In the event of suspicions of an administrational or criminal offence, fraud or false information, the data shall be stored for 10 years.
- In the event of disputes, the data shall be retained until the claim is satisfied or the expiry date of such claims.
- We respond to the request for deleting and transferring personal data submitted by an e-mail within a month and we specify the period of data deletion and transfer.
8. Dispute resolution
- Disputes relating to the processing of personal data are resolved through Pikmi ́s Data Protection Officer (privacy@pikmi.net).
- The supervisory authority is Nigeria’s “National Information Technology Development Agency” (“NITDA”), (www.nitda.gov.ng), and can be contacted by email info@nitda.gov.ng.
